Episode Synopsis

In Atlanta, Thorac is being held over a lava geyser by the sheriff as he announces his death sentence to the villagers in attendance. Outside the gates, Thundarr and crew ride in. They ride past the brutish pigmen at the gate and save Thorac.

Sheriff Korb has his goons try to grab Thundarr but they are bested by his barbarian strength and freakish acrobatic abilities. Thorac says he found their fuel source in the swamp, but it was stolen by a wizard. The sheriff gives Thundarr until the next morning to prove it or Thorac will have to die by geyser.

Later, at the jail, Sheriff Korb calls the wizard Artemis and tells him the plan was stopped by Thundarr. Korb stole the fuel and pinned it on Thorac, and the council of wizards is watching Artemis. He must succeed in his evil plot at all costs!

The crew rides through the forest in the direction Thorac told them. Thundarr and Ariel jump over a pile of leaves, but Ookla and his horse fall into the pit hidden under the leaves. As Thundarr and Ariel go to help him, Artemis appears and zaps them. He tosses Ariel into the pit with Ookla. He tries to push Thundarr in, but he was just playing dead. He attacks the wizard and Artemis blasts the ground under his feet with magic, opening up a pit. Thundarr falls down into it but jumps out to attack Artemis again. He turns to smoke and disappears. Ariel floats she and Ookla out of the pit and over to Thundarr using magic.

Thundarr wants to go after him, but Ariel decides to search him out with her magic. She tells Thundarr to take Ookla and tell Korb what they’ve learned. They leave her as she rides off after Artemis.

The pigmen look at the broken door as Thundarr and Ookla ride back to the city. They tell Korb, but he has his pigmen attack them, claiming they are in on it. Thundarr is taken down with a blast to his back with a shock stick. Ookla tosses off the pigmen who have globbed onto him. Thundarr tells him to find Ariel and warn her.

Korb tosses water on Thundarr in the jail cell to wake him up and gloat. Thundarr threatens him, as usual. Korb leaves and notes that the old lady will be by with their last meals. He’s heading off to see Artemis. He leaves as Ookla listens to his plans.

Ookla wraps a blanket around himself and takes a picnic basket to the pigmen at the jail, pretending to be the little old lady. Ookla breaks Thundarr out of jail, but Thorac doesn’t want to leave and seem guilty to the people. Thundarr and Ookla go to find the wizard and clear Thorac’s name.

Thundarr sees an image of Ariel telling him to follow her magic trail. They follow the image to an old plantation house. They sneak up on Ariel who is unhappy about being surprised. Before they can tell Ariel anything, they see that Korb and his pigmen guards are standing watch at the house. She notes that they must be in on it.

They grab a pigman to interrogate, but Artemis sees them and creates a magic snake beast with two arms near its head to grab prey. Thundarr cuts the head off and another creature grows magically in its place like a Hydra. Now he has to fight two of them! They are called “green things” according to Artemis.

Ariel has Thundarr make the swamp worms attack each other. They do so and the magic is dissipated. Artemis tells Korb to take the ancient chariots and not to bring Thundarr back alive!

Back at Artemis’s lair, the device is fueled up and ready for his first conquest. He is excited to show the council of wizards that he is a wizard to be feared! Korb tells him Thundarr got away, and Artemis throws him on the Deathship so he can watch him and make sure he doesn’t mess up more.

At the village, Thorac is dangling above the geyser once again. Thundarr arrives with the prisoner. He screams that he will never talk until Ookla dangles him over the geyser. He tells the people everything. Thundarr tells them to cut Thorac down, but suddenly Artemis’s Deathship appears. Korg and the pigmen fly out of it with jetpack-like devices and attack. Thundarr and crew clean them all up easily. Korg is knocked off of his jetpack and grabbed by the villagers.

Artemis, angered by the turn of events, starts shooting with his Deathship. They disable it and just as it is about to crash into Thundarr and Thorac, the geyser bursts and blasts it out of the sky. Artemis steps out of the rubble, a mess, and demands to be feared. The villagers laugh as he pleads with them not to.

The crowd makes Thorac the sheriff once Thundarr turns it down. They ride off.
